The Human Rights Platform (PDH), a leading voice in the defense of human rights in Portugal, has launched its 2025 report. The document, titled “Between Commitment and Reality,” delivers a critical and in-depth analysis of the state of multiple rights in the country. More than just a simple report, the goal was to forge a powerful advocacy tool designed to influence policymakers, media outlets, and raise awareness within civil society.
What was the challenge of the Human Rights Platform (PDH)?
The Human Rights Platform (PDH) launched its 2025 report titled “Between Commitment and Reality”. The document is a critical analysis of the state of human rights in Portugal. The challenge handed to GRINGO was one of communication and editorial design. We needed to transform a dense, 130-page academic document into a powerful advocacy tool. The goal was to influence policymakers, capture the attention of the media, and alert civil society to the country’s most critical data.
How did we apply Editorial Design and Social Media strategy?
We rejected the traditional academic format. We developed an editorial piece with a sober and impactful layout that balances the seriousness of the content with a strong visual component.
Graphic Composition: We used a clear typographic hierarchy and tactical infographics to facilitate the reading of complex data.
Photography and Emotion: We applied stylized duotone photography to represent the personas. The design was conceived to reinforce institutional credibility and create an emotional connection with the reader.
Digital Campaign: For the launch, we extracted the strongest statistics and stories from the report. We created a social media campaign with posts designed for quick consumption and organic sharing. We transformed complex themes into direct advocacy messages.
What were the results of the 2025 PDH report?
The editorial design and digital strategy amplified the urgency of the message. The campaign generated immediate dialogue within civil society and fulfilled its goal of public pressure. The launch of the “Between Commitment and Reality” report achieved national media coverage and was featured on the RTP television network.
